Our CPA Firm's approach to preparing personal taxes in New York City.
- Gathering documentation. The first step is requesting our client to gather all of the necessary documentation, such as W-2 forms, 1099 forms, and receipts for deductible expenses. Gary Mehta, CPA, EA will need this information to prepare the return accurately.
- Interviewing the client. A Certified Public Accountant will then interview the client to gather more information about their tax situation, such as their income, deductions, and credits. This information will help us to determine the best way to prepare the return.
- Preparing the return. Once our tax accountant has gathered all of the necessary information, they will begin to prepare the return. This process typically involves entering the information into tax preparation software and calculating the client's taxes.
- Reviewing the return with the client. Once the return is prepared, our CPA will review it with the client to make sure that it is accurate and complete. The client will have the opportunity to make any necessary changes to the return at this time.
- Filing the return. Once the client is satisfied with the return, the CPA will file it with the IRS.
- Tax Planning for next year. Once the return is filed, the accountant plans for tax efficiency for next year's returns.
- Installment Plan. If you cannot pay the tax, we will help you set up an arrangement with IRS or New York.
